Halloween 2008

Here are Raleigh and Aiden - the Safari hunter and little lion:

We took the kids to Orlando (side note, I wrecked the van on the way over after swerving to avoid hitting a COYOTE! Bad idea. This was not a good start to the vacation, but it did get better. I'll spare the pictures of my van, which had the overall texture of a ruffles potato chip after the high tension guard wires went up one side over the roof ripping off the roof rack and back down the other side) We met up with Darrell and Sandy while there and everyone went to Universal Studios. Then Grammy and I took Raleigh and Aiden to the "Not So Scary Halloween" at Disney. They had SO much fun!!!

Finally, on the actual day of Halloween we took the kids Trick-OR-Treating around Grammy and Grandpa's neighborhood. Then Daddy took Raleigh around to our little street, since she really enjoyed the whole experience!

Aiden's first Disney Trip...

So I'm only about a week late in posting these.... Which, considering how hectic my life seems right now, is actually really not too bad at all.

We had tickets left from Raleigh's second birthday (we bought 4 day passes, because they were cheaper, and only used 3 days) that had to be used by March 1. So, we decided to go over the President's Day Weekend. I must say, it is INSANE trying to pack for a 2.5 year old, a 2 month old, and yourself. I was doomed to forget something. Did that something have to be my wallet with all my money and ID in it? Of course it did....

Anyhow, we finally arrived at the time share where my parents booked our reservations around 10 pm. Way past miss princess' bed time....and in complete disregard of the schedule I have been desperately trying to make little man adhere to. As we arrive I am thinking to myself "I am SO spending half of the night up with him." I must be able to predict the future, because that is exactly what happened. I was SUPER tired at Disney, but I tried not to show it.

Raleigh loves the merry go round.... Don't worry grandpa is there next to her!

There is a water play area in TOON LAND that has lily pads that squirt water out of the ground. Raleigh thought this was good fun too, and saw a lot of big kids putting their faces down where the water came out. She tried this, and got squirted in the face! She thought that was scary, but then we were laughing hysterically (yeah, I know, nice parents right?!) and she started laughing too. Next thing we know she is TRYING to get squirted.

And I have to show you this one, because Chris calls these sunglasses her "Willy Wonka" glasses. If you have seen the new version, you'll know what I'm talking about.

We saw a little boy who was terrorizing the kids at the playground get decked by a little girl. I wonder what Mickey had to say about that. I know I was thinking "way to go little girl" because this kid was the world's biggest bully. But if Raleigh had done that, I would have been pretty mad. Guess it's one of those days when you are glad someoneelses' kid did it an not yours. This is probably not the testament to good parenting I want to be recording for all posterity. Oh well.

On the way out Chris bought Raleigh a $9 balloon. Yes, $9. That's just insane. It's been over a week and it is still inflated - but it should be for $9, right?

Chris and I left Sunday afternoon, after a short jaunt to the outlets. Since I didn't have my wallet, it was a cheap trip. Aiden came home with us and Raleigh stayed another day with my parents. They took her to SEA WORLD, which is becoming her favorite place. She loves "Shamu-eee" and knows that Shamu is a Killer Whale and a Mammal. She keeps asking to go back and see the dolphins and the hammerhead shark. I'm pretty sure she is going to be a marine biologist.
